Deborah Muller, aka ChubbyMermaid (her enticing Etsy shop name), created a wonderful rendition of the majestic spirit animals and meditative collaborations in two beautifully illustrated colouring books. The pages are printed one sided on heavy weight card stock bound by a different type of "spiral" which I actually love because the pages are less likely to come loose from constant turning! And you can even colour the front and back cover pages!

Color Me 2, one of the four books from the Color Me Your Way Series, by Pamela Smart, is a beautiful take on wildlife, within wildlife! Confused?! You won't be after you see some pictures! You want to colour a dog sleeping by a fire? Well get ready to colour a cat too because Smart has combined the two into one! Trippy and fascinating at the same time!
If you love bold patterns and flowers, these books are definitely for you! Raegan Allred owns an ETSY shop called RedRae Designs, where she sells three lovely colouring books, Spiral Blossoms, Blackout Blooms, and Doodle Dreams, and I got the chance to review her first two! Spiral bound with thick card stock paper, and printed on one side (always a huge plus) these books are just waiting to be coloured in. Spiral books just make it so easy to colour, as you can tuck everything else under and you're able to focus on the picture at hand! It's especially convenient if you're traveling as well!
The Yellow Bird Project has agreed to do a giveaway with Colour Your World!! The winner receives their successful Indie Rock Coloring Book, by Andy J Miller!
CONGRATS TO NIKKI MCDONALD ON WINNING YELLOW BIRD PROJECT'S GIVEAWAY! ENJOY YOUR BOOK! Here's a great technique I've come to learn from colouring, a little something called rendering-- otherwise known as cross-hatching! Colouring in one direction, especially with coloured pencils, shows the line strikes as well as the white gaps that weren't filled in that sometimes we don't even realize. But wait until you see the comparison between what a rendered coloured area and a non-rendered area looks like next to each other. You'll never colour in a single direction ever again! Stay tuned for next week's colouring technique where gel pens and coloured pencils come together :) Happy colouring, my coloristas! Kourtney I've seen Asma's work every once in a while float around the colouring groups I'm a part of, and one in particular had caught my eye. I sifted through the many comments to see what book it came from and when I saw it was a download I thought, downloadable colouring pages? They exist?! That's genius! So I found Asma on Etsy after seeing she had a shop and contacted her about doing a review on her Sacred Flowers book, soon to be available on Amazon but immediately ready for colouring in PDF format! So here I am!

The "Colorista"I'm Kourtney, and I'm a mother of two litle girls and the wife of a Navy sailor. I review colouring books and products for publishers and art supply companies to give my Coloristas a guide to buying and growing their collections. And of course I love to colour any chance I get (mostly when the kids are asleep!)
