I had the amazing opportunity to review these gorgeous markers from Tombow USA. They sent me the Bright palette set and the Secondary palette set. Each set came with 10 pens-- 9 colours and 1 colourless blender. There were only two markers that were the same, so I had a total of 16 different colours to work with, which is plenty given the endless possibilities with shading and blending different colours together!

Katie Funk has created all sorts of cool designs and incorporated them into a book for all of us coloristas to add our own flair to! But wait! She has two versions of Color Me Zen--the convenient sized 11x14 book, meant for framing, and the "Chillax" edition, featuring simplistic and raw forms of her designs. You can mellow out with the smaller one or go by my motto: "go big, or go home!" From Perth, Australia, the talented Helena Tay is the face and genius behind "Little Mo and Friends", a collaboration of stationary and gifts that were inspired by her love of nature and animals. All of her paper goods are even 100% Earth Friendly; it's a very "green" process, even down to the printing! And now she has her first book out called Botania, featuring 22 inky illustrations hiding over 150 tiny insects and animals. Lets meet Little Mo and her friends! Jenean Morrison, a designer and artist from Memphis, Tennessee, is bringing out the flower child in all of us! Her stunning flower patterns and designs have even been licensed into fabric, and her paintings exhibited in places like Vegas hotels/casinos. I seriously need a big comfy chair upholstered by her. It would totally be my new colouring spot! She brings forth so much inspiration in her work, it becomes motivating to want to colour in her illustrations from her first book, Flower Designs, rated one of the Best Books of 2014 on Amazon! Trisha Larson brings you a whole series of her abstract doodle books (TEN to be exact) and I had the pleasure of reviewing her first one. Chock full of hand drawn abstract flowers, circles, shapes, and lines, this book is definitely a stress reliever. It's the type of colouring book where you don't have to worry about going out of the lines or any tedious detail. It's simply just mindful fun! "Mandalas", "Dazzling Patterns", and "Optical Illusions" are three books that comprise Barron's Just Add Color Series. All three have their own flare and style, and while some images overpower others, they are lovely books. Great quality paper with no bleed through was awesome with these books having double sided images. Each book has over 120 images so that is over 360 images to keep you busy! Let's take a deeper look into each one individually as to not confuse! |
The "Colorista"I'm Kourtney, and I'm a mother of two litle girls and the wife of a Navy sailor. I review colouring books and products for publishers and art supply companies to give my Coloristas a guide to buying and growing their collections. And of course I love to colour any chance I get (mostly when the kids are asleep!)
