Happy Colouring!

Claire and I became great friends through my colouring group, and before the blog, and all the reviewing, she had told me about her colouring pages she was illustrating: Alice In Wonderland! I just about died, because I LOVE Alice and everything about wonderland and its curiosities. I told her I would be her first customer once they went live because just from seeing previews, I knew I had to have them. After lots of encouraging and being so proud of what she accomplished, the day came for her to open her Etsy shop and release her baby in to the world. I was touched when Claire gifted me Alice in Doodleland because I had "cheered her on" throughout the process. What can I say! When I see potential, I let the person know that they've really got something worth showing to EVERYONE! And you know what they say of curious minds! I most definitely went MAD over these colouring pages! Tumble down the rabbit hole where nothing's quite as it seems! Claire features the most iconic characters--Alice, The Mad Hatter, The High Caterpillar, the Rabbit who never seems to be on time (what IS he always doing???), and the merciless Queen of Hearts. Each page has it's ongoing theme coinciding with the character present, along with some repeating motifs. I loved how the Cheshire Cat makes an appearance in all 5 pages, almost as if he is checking up on everyone to see what confusion he can create. The way the characters are done is interesting as well. Claire only drew the outline, leaving it open for interpretation by the colourist. Doodle the character's features or make him or her a shadow--it's really quite up to you! Curiouser and curiouser? You're invited to take a peek, but be fore warned! Don't be fooled by the Cheshire Cat's smile and DON'T drink the tea!! So let's admit it now--we're ALL a bit mad over these gorgeous colouring pages! To add, I went to Staples (I swear I live there anymore) and got them printed on nice card stock; all 5 pages for $1.19. You cant beat that! Here's what I did with my finished pieces! Head over to Blacksummer Colouring on etsy and purchase her pages! Claire has MANY more ideas in store for us so keep up on updates on her Facebook page as well!

The "Colorista"I'm Kourtney, and I'm a mother of two litle girls and the wife of a Navy sailor. I review colouring books and products for publishers and art supply companies to give my Coloristas a guide to buying and growing their collections. And of course I love to colour any chance I get (mostly when the kids are asleep!)
