Within this book are over 30 illustrations waiting for colour to bring them to life. The perforated pages are easy to remove, allowing one to scan, print, colour, and repeat (think of all the different colour schemes---sunset colours, and then sunrise colours; night, day--the options are endless) You could even frame your favorite coloured masterpiece or gift to a friend or loved one! Lines vary from thick to thin, which I love the variety of both in an illustration. Complexity and simplicity all packed into one image is a huge plus for me.
When I started colouring I chose a marker first (Stabilo 68) to see how the paper could handle it. It's good quality bright white paper, but not very thick, so I had an idea that the markers would bleed through (which they did) So if you plan on keeping your pages in the book, keep a piece of paper in between. As I started to move the marker up and down, I noticed if I overlapped even a couple of times (along with the friction from the marker to paper) caused it to start feathering. Therefore I would HIGHLY recommend this book to be done in pencils OR if you really wanted to, copy the images over to heavier weighted paper to be able to use markers properly. I used Fantasia and Prisma Premiers for my coloured page. The colours showed so vibrantly and soon I found myself lost in the page. The detail isn't too overwhelming where I was on edge about colouring two different sections, but enough so that I wasn't bored. It was certainly mind-clearing. How about we fall into a day dream about a surreal world that is Dreamscapes.
Happy Colouring!
