I didn't get a chance to colour in it yet and I cannot wait to dive in, but I couldn't resist showcasing this beauty the night before its release onto Amazon US! (Yes that's right tomorrow is the day of release!) So head on over and order it NOW! Also, be sure to check out and preorder the sequel to this story, The Time Chamber, releasing on October 13th! Thank you to Daria for speaking with me about reviewing for her! I received this colouring book from Blogging For Books (part of Penguin Random House) for review and a huge thank you to the publicity managers over at Ten Speed for quickly replacing the one that got a bit damaged through the mail!
Happy Colouring all!

Daria Song, the talent behind the gorgeous colouring book, The Time Garden, lived in San Francisco for a time before moving back to Korea. This book is based off of some of her adventures while in a "far off place". The Time Garden follows the story of a little girl who's father bought a cuckoo clock, but it was no ordinary clock. The little girl swore she saw a fairy turning the gears! And so her adventure began: The chase after the fairy from the cuckoo clock that took the little girl to magical places! Are you up for the chase?! The Time Garden is the same square format as Johanna Basford's books and has many pages of beautifully illustrated scenes. The dust jacket cover is speckled with gold and green foil embellisments and it can be taken off, revealing a lovely picture on the actual book itself. The inside of the cover can be coloured in as well! Lots and lots of stars to be filled in! The orientation of the images differs throughout the book. Some fit onto one page and other images are arranged as two page spreads. Her linework is smooth and crisp, and the paper is white and thick, withstanding to many of my water based markers and fineliners! I love that she incorporated places she loved to go and actual landmarks native to San Francisco, with a bit of a whimsical twist of course! Let's hop on the cable car and ride into the pages of this magical story!

The "Colorista"I'm Kourtney, and I'm a mother of two litle girls and the wife of a Navy sailor. I review colouring books and products for publishers and art supply companies to give my Coloristas a guide to buying and growing their collections. And of course I love to colour any chance I get (mostly when the kids are asleep!)
